FAQs
Not only do I provide engaging sessions, but also equip students with a comprehensive revision plan which suits them and their timetable. I don’t just work in the one-hour session but constantly serve as a point of contact for your child ensuring that support is available 24/7. My motto is that “progress is progress” so although I’ll be working to unlock your child’s full potential, I’ll also work towards building their self-esteem and confidence allowing them to maximise their achievements in both our sessions and at school.
During the session, we collaborate with the student to identify their strengths and weaknesses and assess their previous work to pinpoint areas for improvement. We also review the topics in which the student needs more practice, as well as those that should be the primary focus of our future sessions. We also review the KS3 curriculum of their school or the GCSE specification of their subject, which are essential tools often overlooked by students. This process helps streamline our approach and provides greater transparency to the student to their learning. Furthermore, we introduce various revision strategies based on my experience and the student’s proficiency, such as active recall, spaced repetition, and mind mapping. Lastly, we assist the student in improving their time management skills and provide a comprehensive revision plan to support their learning in the long run.
Learning and understanding content is just one side of the coin and in my experience the concept of “revision” is something which is not taught in class. I provide specific advice and provide methods to how to “revise” efficiently targeted for a specific student. Revision is also the backbone of each session, I ensure that every lesson comes with comprehensive revision guidance.
The pricing for each subject level can be found here, however, I am a firm believer that education should be accessible to everyone, which is why I provide a free consultation session where I give tailored advice and a comprehensive brief on how the student can improve independently.
Each student has their own private Google Classroom which stores all slides and power points used. Every meeting is held on Google Meet with every session recorded and emailed to the student afterwards. Sessions are planned a week in advance but are flexible and an invitation is sent to the students email for them to accept.
